Alan Trammell had 3 base hits and 4 RBI as the Alexandria Dukes defeated the
Orlando Wave by the score of 7 to 6 at Tiger Stadium.
Alexandria brought 4 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they came up
with 4 base hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Orlando made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Don Sutton(9-6) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Kent
Tekulve gained credit for his 2nd save. Smokey Joe Williams(6-8) was charged
with the loss. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run
in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.
Casey Stengal was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
