'big fly' at Wrigley Field as the Des Moines Pickers beat the Escanaba
Yoopers by the count of 9 to 1.
Schilling(10-12) was simply too much for the Escanaba batters. He allowed
only 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Des Moines had 10 hits for the night.
Catfish Hunter(3-14) was the loser. Schilling was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my
location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
