The Las Vegas Miners cruised to a 10 to 4 victory over the Cheyenne
Gunslingers at Forbes Field.
Jose Canseco had a good day at the plate. He cracked a solo homerun in the
4th inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 5th inning and laced a
single in the 9th inning. Cheyenne was out-hit by Las Vegas, 17 hits to 9.
The win was credited to Bullet Joe Rogan(8-14) who went 8 and 2/3 innings
allowing 4 runs. Jack Morris(4-13) was the losing pitcher. With this win,
Las Vegas has a 50-58 record. They have been 4-6 lately. Not able to get
much going in recent weeks, Cheyenne is 2-8 of late and now has an overall
record of 42-66, worst in the division.
