In an entertaining game at Shibe Park the final score was the Honolulu
Islanders 5, the Des Moines Pickers 2.
 
Willie Mays helped send the fans home happy.  He doubled in the 1st inning,
launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 3rd inning and doubled in the 5th
inning.  Honolulu rapped out 7 hits for the night.  
 
The victory was credited to Mike Mussina(7-1) who went 8 innings, allowing 2
runs. Leon Day gained credit for his 15th save.  Nolan Ryan(11-6) was given
the loss.  He gave up 5 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
