Willie Wells blasted 2 homeruns and scored 3 times and Babe Adams went the
distance as the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Des Moines Pickers 7 to 4
at Wrigley Field.
 
Wells provided the offensive punch.  He lashed a single in the 1st inning,
clubbed a solo home run in the 3rd inning and cracked a solo homerun in the
4th inning.  New Orleans had 13 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Adams(5-3) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Curt Schilling(1-7)
was the loser.  He surrended 4 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings.
