Mickey Mantle had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Cheyenne Gunslingers defeated the
Honolulu Islanders by the score of 9 to 6 at Shibe Park.
 
Mantle enjoyed a fine evening at the plate.  He slapped a one-base hit in the
1st inning, blasted a solo shot in the 3rd inning, singled in the 7th inning
and doubled which brought home a run in the 8th inning.  Due to a poorly
pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for
Honolulu to come away with the victory.  
 
Dan Quisenberry(4-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 2/3 innings
and allowing 1 run. Rollie Fingers was credited with his 10th save.  Ron
Guidry(0-3) was charged with the loss in relief.  He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Quisenberry said.  'It's great to be back
on the winning side of things.'
