Vida Blue pitched a complete game and Harry Heilmann had 2 base hits as the
Cheyenne Gunslingers won a dandy at Forbes Field over the New Orleans
Pelicans, 5 to 4.
 
The game was decided in the 9th inning.  Heilmann ripped a base-knock.  After
an out was recorded, Tony La Russa stepped in and he called for a steal which
was successful.  Judy Johnson then worked the squeeze play to perfection
giving Cheyenne the win as 24,248 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  Cheyenne
finished with 8 hits in the victory.  
 
The victory was credited to Blue(7-8) who went the distance, allowing 4 runs.
Joe McGinnity(4-8) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 8 and 2/3 innings
and surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk.
 
'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' Tony La Russa sighed.  'That win feels like a tall,
cool drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
