Judy Johnson had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Saskatoon Commodores were badly
beaten by the Cheyenne Gunslingers, 15 to 4.
Johnson led the offense for Cheyenne. He singled in the 3rd inning, doubled
which scored a run in the 4th inning, slapped a single knocking in a run in
the 5th inning and lined a one-base hit which brought home a run in the 6th
inning. Cheyenne kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning with 4 runs on
6 hits and the 6th inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits. Cheyenne dominated
offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.
Whitey Ford(6-5) allowed 4 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Jim Bunning(4-7) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 11 hits
and 3 walks in 5 innings.
