It was an amazing offensive display in Wrigley Field where the Cheyenne
Gunslingers beat the Des Moines Pickers by the score of 11 to 10 in.
Mickey Lolich(3-2) pitched good enough to get the victory in relief. He was
reached for 5 hits and 1 walk in 3 and 2/3 innings. Des Moines had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.
Dan Quisenberry preserved the game for Lolich, recording his his 9th. Sparky
Lyle(3-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. Cheyenne knocked him around a
bit, as he gave up 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Third baseman Paul Molitor knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI in a losing cause
for Des Moines.
