Pickers beat the Memphis Belles by a score of 6 to 3.
 
Kaline had a big day against Memphis.  He lashed a single in the 1st inning,
ripped a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the
7th inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 9th inning.  Des Moines had
11 hits overall, while Memphis had 6.  
 
Curt Schilling(11-14) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Sparky Lyle was credited with his 15th save.  The loss was charged to Tom
Glavine(9-11).
