Jim Palmer tossed a complete game and Ken Griffey Jr touched them all at
Forbes Field where the Anchorage Gold beat the league door-mat Cheyenne
Gunslingers by the score of 6 to 2.
Anchorage jumped on top of Cheyenne in the top of the 6th inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 1 hit. Anchorage finished with 7 hits in the victory.
The win was credited to Palmer(14-6) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
The loss was charged to Jack Morris(5-16). He surrendered 6 runs and 6 hits
in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Anchorage now has a record of a division leading 72-49. Tony La Russa was
unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he
said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
