Roy Campanella had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Don Sutton pitched a complete game as
the Alexandria Dukes defeated the New Orleans Pelicans by the score of 8 to 1
at Tiger Stadium.
 
The game started off with Alexandria taking the lead in the first scoring a
single run on 2 base hits.  Alexandria banged out 15 hits on the night.
 
The victory was credited to Sutton(11-8) who went the distance, allowing 1
run. The losing pitcher was Lew Burdette(1-2).  He was unable to control the
Alexandria offense and allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
