The Alexandria Dukes offense put up 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 4th inning
and got by the Orlando Wave in 10 innings at Ebbets Field. The final score
was 8 to 6.

The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings. Alexandria came out the
victor in the 10th inning. Honus Wagner led off and keyed the rally when he
delivered a base-hit. Wagner took his lead and swiped second. After an out
was recorded, Joe Jackson came to the plate and doubled. Roy Campanella got
his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Eddie Collins came up to bat
and delivered a single. Collins took second on the throw. Wade Boggs
contributed to the rally and laced a single. A wild and woolly affair, this
game saw the lead change 5 times.

The win went to Goose Gossage(1-2) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Waite
Hoyt(4-3) was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed Alexandria 3 runs
in 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
